Traxxas has always been very good at taking this hobby to the next level while at the same time making it accessible and affordable to everyone. Their RTR (ready-to-run) vehicles are fast, reliable, backed by a solid warranty and easy to upgrade if you feel the need to.

This is my E-Maxx. This is the newer generation 3905 series. It started out stock but was converted to brushless with a Novak motor and ESC. I run it with (2) MaxAmps 6500mAh 2S LiPo packs which with the blip of the throttle will flip this truck on it's back even at 20mph! I need to install the wheelie bar on this truck to save the roof from anymore 30 yard skids down the street upside down.

Many of you probably started into RC with a nitro powered vehicle. Mine was an HPI RS4 and then a T-Maxx. Once brushless motors came on the scene the game changed. Once LiPo batteries arrived it was game over for nitro, at least for me. This E-Maxx will run for over 30 minutes on a pair of LiPo's. The initial investment is steep but worth it. The price of LiPo's keeps coming down so it is only going to get better for us electric guys. My E-Revo 1/16th scale with two Thunder Power 1800mAh LiPo packs connected in parallel (for more runtime rather than unusable top speed) will run for over an hour.

Over the past 10 years I have been through all sorts of different RC cars and trucks both nitro and electric. The one constant for me is the 1/8th scale buggy. My 1st one was a Mugen MBX-4RR.

My current buggy is this Kyosho 777 that I converted to brushless electric power. To give you an idea of how much power this buggy can produce, it will spin a well glued tire off the rim if you push it hard on a high grip surface. It is also capable of flipping itself over if launched too aggressively. That takes a lot of power!

Looking at the photos you can see how the (2) MaxAmps 6500 LiPo packs fit into the tray that comes with the electric conversion kit. They fit tight which is good. The red velcro strap is not the best way to secure them down. They have come out before so a better holddown solution is on my list.

You can see the copper mounting bracket in the photos. That is for the Contour HD 1080P camera. You can see some videos taken with this camera by clicking here.

This is my latest RC truck, the E-Revo 1/16th brushless. I run it with (2) Thunder Power 1800mAh LiPo packs that fit perfect in this truck. I connect them in parallel for more run time. From what I read you can not connect LiPo's in series? If any has any info on that please e-mail it to me.

I am getting 60-90 minutes of run time with these packs! Yes, over 1 hour. It seems too good to be true. It will still pop a wheelie even at speed go fast to enough to really break some parts! So don't let the though if less top end deter you from running the packs in parallel.

This is a really fun all around truck. Remember though, 1/16th is small so those rocks and sticks you are used to ripping over with your 1/10th scale E-Maxx, Savage, LST, etc, will certainly let your E-Revo know they are there.

This truck is also water proof! For running on the ice or in a little bit of snow there is nothing more fun than being able to bash w/o fear of frying any of your electronics.

So these are my current vehicles and a little background on each of them. If I had to keep just one of them it would be the Kyosho 777 brushless for racing while the E-Maxx brushless would be great for everything else (bashing, monster jams, taking videos, jumping, etc.). That is not really keeping just one then is it. Who said anything about getting rid of them though?
